Erika Gentry of the City College of San Francisco Photography Department faculty was awarded the Dean Collins Educator Scholarship to attend Photoshop World Boston in early April. She was nominated for the award by her students. The scholarship honors the legacy of Photoshop educator Dean Collins and is awarded annually to one high school or college educator nominated by his or her students.
The scholarship provides round-trip airfare, hotel accommodations and a full conference pass which includes a one-year the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) membership and a subscription to Photoshop User magazine. “I learned a lot, and am excited to share new Photoshop and Lightroom techniques…,” said Gentry. “We (us educators) are also working with NAPP to make it less expensive for students to attend the bi-yearly Photoshop World conference in Boston and Las Vegas. Also keep in mind that there are student scholarships.”
